COLD to WARM in four steps: COLD, CORD, CARD, WARD, WARM. Every rung has to be a real word, and the fewer rungs you use, the better your score.
There’s a new ladder every day, the same one for everybody, and practice ladders whenever you want more.
How it works
Moves are checked against ENABLE, a public-domain list of about 3,900 four-letter words. Puzzles, par and hints only use a shorter list of about 1,000 everyday words, so you’re never expected to know an obscure one, and par is always the fewest steps possible.
Hints show the next word on a shortest path from wherever you are. Your daily results and streak are kept in your browser.
