BRP CAN-AM 2- and 3-wheel motorcycles (models Canyon, Origin, Pulse, Spyder F3, Spyder RT; barcodes 2027-2 and 2027-3) made in Canada are affected. They were recalled because USB/Bluetooth use can cause a communication failure or memory leak that may freeze or inactivate the instrument cluster (preventing display of speed and warning telltales) and can temporarily deactivate or prevent turn signals and hazard lights, increasing the risk of an accident. The action is a voluntary product recall from consumers by the manufacturer.
What's being recalled
3 and 2 wheel motorcycles.
Country of origin: Canada.
How to identify it
Safety Gate alert SR/02665/26
Type or model: Canyon, Origin, Pulse, Spyder F3, Spyder RT
Barcode: 2027-2, 2027-3.
The hazard
Depending on driver usage of USB and Bluetooth connections, a communication failure or memory leak may occur. This can cause an inoperative or frozen instrument cluster to fail to display critical safety information, including vehicle speed and warning telltales. Additionally, during a cluster reset, turn signals and hazard lights will
temporarily deactivate or fail to respond. These conditions reduce the driver's awareness of vehicle status and limit the ability of surrounding road users to recognize the driver’s intent, increasing the risk of an accident.
The product does not comply with the Regulation on the type-approval and market surveillance of two- or three-wheel vehicles and quadricycles.
What to do
Product recall from consumers (voluntary, manufacturer).
