A universal AC-to-DC charger sold in France as “Alimentation universelle 12V DC, 12V 5V 6V 9V 10V 15V 24V 1A 2A 3A 5A 6A 8A, transformateur AC 220V” (type/model JCY-05100) — input 100–240 V AC, output 5 V DC, current up to 10 A, protection class II — is affected. It was recalled because the cord’s plug is not earthed and the removable power cord connector has a different number of poles (plug 2P vs connector 2P+E), which can expose the user to electric shock; it does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive. The product has been removed from online marketplaces and a voluntary consumer recall has been issued.
