A dance mat game sold in a plastic bag, labelled “Dancing challenge”, model LT7805 (origin People’s Republic of China), is affected. It was removed from an online marketplace after tests found solder with excessive concentrations of lead (up to 82.5% by weight) and cadmium (up to 0.283% by weight); both metals pose environmental risks and the product does not comply with the RoHS 2 Directive.

The hazard
The solders in the product have excessive concentrations of lead and cadmium (measured values up to 82.5% and 0.283% by weight, respectively). Lead poses a risk to the environment. Cadmium bio-accumulates and poses a risk to the environment.
The product does not comply with the requirements of the Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS 2 Directive).
