EGTECH Travel Adapter model EGC50, a travel adapter plug socket sold via Amazon, is affected; it is described as a multi‑use travel adapter manufactured by EGTech / Shenzhen Luxneon Ltd (China). The adapter presents a risk of electric shock because the insulated shutter operating device (plastic earth pin) is shorter than required by BS 1363, which may prevent socket shutters from operating and could allow access to live parts if an internal fault occurs.
