Ford passenger cars sold as Focus, C‑MAX, Transit Connect, Galaxy, S‑MAX, Mondeo and Kuga (barcode 24E06; specified production batches) fitted with 2.0 l EcoBlue Diesel or 1.5 l EcoBlue engines are affected. The diesel particulate filter may be cracked, which could cause soot emissions above the authorised limit and failure of the legally required roadworthiness test; the vehicles do not comply with vehicle approval regulations. The manufacturer has issued a voluntary product recall from consumers.

The hazard
The diesel particulate filter (DPF) may be cracked on 2.0 l EcoBlue Diesel and 1.5 l EcoBlue vehicles. This could cause the vehicles to fail the legally required roadworthiness test, as exhaust emissions of soot may be above the authorised limit.
The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
