The hazard
The product presents a serious risk of fire as there is no evidence that it has sufficient battery protective systems in place. There is no evidence to demonstrate that the product has been assessed using relevant UK conformity assessment procedures, and no valid documentation was supplied. There is a lack of labelling, marking and warnings, and the product was supplied with a plug that is not earthed nor compliant with the relevant standard, BS 1363.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs and Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
