Shoe glue sold as “Shoe repair glue - Welding glue” (JXVX), 50 g, in a white bottle with a red cap, manufacturing date 10.10.2025, expiry 9.10.2027, UFI FP00-D06P-A00M-CE3K is affected. It was recalled because it contains 31.7% dichloromethane, which affects the central nervous system, can impair unborn child neuro-development and may cause cancer when inhaled, and it contains cyanoacrylates that can bond skin and eyes; the product lacks required warnings, hazard labels and child-resistant fastening and does not comply with REACH and CLP. Actions taken: removal from online marketplace and warning consumers of risks.

The hazard
The product contains an excessive amount of dichloromethane (measured value: 31.7% by weight), which affects the central nervous system, can impair the neuro-development and behaviour of the unborn child and might cause cancer when inhaled. Furthermore the product contains cyanoacrylates that can bond skin and eyes in seconds. The product however does not display the required warnings and hazard labels and lacks child-resistant fastening, and therefore users are not properly informed about the dangers incurred when the product comes into contact with the skin and eyes.
The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation, nor with the Regulation on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP).
