Square transparent “Storage Bag” with a grey fabric bottom, grey seams and grey zipper (packaged in plastic), originating from China, is affected. It was removed from an online marketplace because tests found excessive cadmium (measured up to 0.072% by weight) and the phthalate DEHP (measured up to 13.98% by weight); cadmium can accumulate in the body, damage kidneys and bones and may cause cancer, and DEHP may harm the reproductive system. The distributor has voluntarily removed the item from the online marketplace.

The hazard
The product has excessive concentrations of cadmium and bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured values up to 0.072% and 13.98% by weight, respectively). This phthalate may harm the health by causing possible damage to the reproductive system. Cadmium is harmful to human health because it accumulates in the body, can damage the kidneys and bones, and it may cause cancer.
The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation.
