A plastic toy archery set sold as “BLASTERS DISK SHOOT” (type/model 4202, LSH-29, barcode 6925458928246) in a blister pack with cardboard back — containing two yellow/green bows, six arrows with red suction cups, two quivers, three plastic duck figures and three bowling pins — is affected. It was recalled because the plastic contains excessive levels of DEHP (4.1%) and DBP (9.3%) which may damage the reproductive system, and it lacks required safety warnings so arrows may be aimed at the eyes or face causing injury. Consumers should comply with the compulsory product recall and withdrawal by the distributor.

The hazard
The plastic material of the toy has an excessive concentration of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) (measured values: 4.1% and 9.3% by weight, respectively). These phthalates may harm the health by causing possible damage to the reproductive system. Additionally, due to the lack of required safety warning, users may aim the arrows at the eyes or face, which can lead to physical injuries.
The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation nor with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive.
