Lorry
Image: Germany via EU Safety Gate

Scania lorries (product names L‑SERIE, P‑SERIE, G‑SERIE, R‑SERIE, S‑SERIE; types N323, N324, N333, N334, N343 and approvals e4*2018/858*00098–00102; barcodes RC260501, RC260502; batch 15.8.2024–27.2.2026) made in Sweden are affected. They were recalled because a transmission fault may show “neutral” when a gear is engaged, allowing the vehicle to move forward unexpectedly and causing a risk of injury. The action is voluntary by the importer, so owners should follow any guidance from the importer.

The hazard

A transmission fault may cause the vehicle to accidentally go into a false neutral position and move forward unexpectedly. In some cases, the sensor may show the vehicle is in “neutral” even though a gear is engaged. This means the vehicle could start moving when shifted into Drive (D) or Reverse (R), even without pressing the accelerator. This could cause injuries.

The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
