Volkswagen vehicles affected are Passat (2009–2012), Polo (2014) and Transport (2010–2011) identified by model and model year. They were recalled because Takata SDI-D airbag inflators could become dangerous over time and potentially spray metal fragments at occupants. Volkswagen dealerships will replace the faulty airbags with newer models that don’t have the same risk.
