2024-2025 Champion trailers recall: Lift gate may fail

Certain 2024–2025 Champion trailers by Great Dane Trailers are affected; these trailers have a slide liftgate whose cylinder pin may be insufficiently lubricated and can seize, causing the lift gate to fail and increasing the risk of injury. Great Dane will work with Hiab to replace the lift gate cylinder pins free of charge; owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2026, and owners may contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493.

What's being recalled

Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Champion trailers. The cylinder pin in the slide liftgate may be insufficiently lubricated, which can cause the pin to seize, resulting in lift gate failure.

A lift gate that fails during operation increases the risk of injury.

What to do

Great Dane will work with Hiab to replace the lift gate cylinder pins, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2026. Owners may contact Great Dane's customer service at 1-877-369-3493.
