2024-2026 Ranger recall: Sun visor wiring may cause fire

Certain 2024–2026 Ford Ranger vehicles (VINs searchable on NHTSA.gov) are affected when the sun visor or headliner wiring harnesses are improperly positioned or have excessive tape thickness, which can damage wires. Damaged wires can create an electrical short and cause a fire in the A‑pillar area, increasing the risk of injury or a crash. Dealers will inspect the wiring, update body control module software, and replace damaged wiring harnesses free of charge; owners will be notified by mail in phases and may contact Ford at 1‑866‑436‑7332 (Ford recall 26S29, NHTSA 26V238000).
