2025-2026 Taos recall: Fuel tank may leak after crash

Certain 2025–2026 Volkswagen Taos vehicles are affected; you can identify if yours is included by model year and VIN (VIN lookup on NHTSA.gov begins April 29, 2026). They were recalled because in a rear-end crash the fuel pressure sensor may dislodge or separate from the fuel tank, which can allow fuel to leak after a rollover and increase the risk of a fire and fails to comply with FMVSS 301. Dealers will install a fuel pressure sensor wiring harness extension free of charge; owner letters were mailed June 4, 2026 and Volkswagen can be reached at 1-800-893-5298 (recall 97TH).
