2025-2027 Explorer and other models recall: Driver's seat may recline unexpectedly

Certain 2025–2027 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator vehicles are affected; an unoccupied driver’s seat may recline unintentionally in some scenarios such as remote unlock or remote start. Ford is recalling these vehicles because unexpected movement of the driver’s seat back may trap a second-row occupant and increase the risk of injury. Dealers will disable the driver seat module feature until replacement motors are available and will replace the motor free of charge; owner letters were mailed September 3, 2026, and Ford can be reached at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford recall 26S53).
