Certain 2026 Subaru Crosstrek hybrid and 2025 Subaru Forester hybrid vehicles are affected; identify them by model and year. When the fuel tank is near full, fuel can expand and spill from the filler neck because the fuel cap seal is insufficient, increasing fire risk; owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and limit fuel to 50% until dealers replace the fuel filler cap gasket free of charge (owner letters mailed March 25, 2026; Subaru recall WRD-26, customer service 1-844-373-6614).
