Niwali Tejocote Capsules (90-count white plastic bottle with blue/green label, lot RM500925, best by 03/03/2028) and Niwali Tejocote Pieces (bottle with blue/white wrap label, UPC 1 99284 23789 6, lot RM400925, best by 03/03/2028) sold on eBay and Everymarket are recalled. FDA testing found they appear to be Thevetia peruviana (yellow oleander), which contains cardiac glycosides that are highly toxic and can cause severe or fatal neurologic, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular effects. Consumers should stop using the products, return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or contact Global Mix Inc. for a refund, and consult a healthcare provider if they have consumed the product and have health concerns.
What's being recalled
Global Mix Inc. of Middle Village, New York, is recalling niwali Tejocote Capsules (90 capsules, Herbal Supplement) and niwali Tejocote Pieces (90 Day Supply, Herbal Supplement) because FDA analysis has determined that the products appear to be Thevetia peruviana, or yellow oleander. All parts of the yellow oleander plant are known to contain cardiac glycosides, which are highly toxic to humans and animals. Ingestion of yellow oleander can cause severe or even fatal neurologic, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular adverse health effects. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, abdominal pain, changes in heart rhythm, arrhythmia, and more.

How the problem was discovered
The recall was initiated after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration advised the company of laboratory results for two samples collected by the agency on June 19, 2026, which showed that the products labeled as tejocote were in fact toxic yellow oleander. The company acted promptly on that information, ceased distribution of the affected products, removed the listings from sale, and is conducting this voluntary recall while it investigates the problem.
This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

A total of five units of the recalled products were sold, consisting of two (2) units of capsules and three (3) units of pieces.
