Specialized Turbo Como SL 4.0 and Como SL 5.0 electric hybrid bicycles (all 4.0 and 5.0 models with belt or chain drive, sold from 2021 onwards) are affected; they have two parallel down‑tubes, are typically fitted with a front rack/basket and fenders, and the “Como SL” marking usually appears as a small graphic on the top tube or back of the seat tube. They were recalled because the fork steerer tube may develop a fatigue crack that could cause the fork to fail, posing a fall and injury risk and not meeting Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. Stop using the bike immediately, check your model name on your invoice or user manual or by connecting the bike to the Specialized app, note your serial number and contact your nearest Authorized Specialized Retailer to start the claim process.
