How to price handmade items, including Etsy fees
Solve for a price that covers your costs, your hourly rate, a profit and marketplace fees, and check what a price you have in mind really pays.
List what went into a project, what you paid and how much you used. You get the cost of the materials you used, what you had to buy in whole packs, and the full cost per item once your time and overhead are counted.

Each material costs price × amount used ÷ amount in the pack. Whole packs to buy are the amount used ÷ pack size, rounded up, times the price. Labour is hours × your hourly rate. Materials and labour are for the whole batch and are divided by the number of items it made; packaging and overhead are per item.
If you sell what you make, yes. Leaving your time out makes an item look cheaper to make than it is, and prices are hard to raise later. Count it at a rate you’d accept for the work, even if you decide to round the final price down.
The costs that aren’t in one item but keep you making: hooks and tools that wear out, stitch markers, electricity, craft fair fees, a website subscription, photo props. Add up a month and divide by the items you make in a month for a per-item figure.
“Materials used” is what went into the item: 450 yards of a 200-yard skein is 2.25 skeins’ worth. “To buy” is what you paid for in whole packs: 3 skeins. Price on what you used if you’ll use the rest, and on what you bought if the leftovers will sit in a drawer.
