Certain 2019–2020 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD trucks that were previously repaired under NHTSA Recall 25V390 with a brake jumper wire harness assembled without protective tape are affected; VINs became searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 6, 2025. The missing protective tape can allow the wires to be damaged, which can result in power brake assist failure and increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will remove the installed harness, apply protective tape, and reinstall it free of charge; owner letters are planned to be mailed December 22, 2025 and owners may contact GM at 1-866-467-9700 (GM recall N252531990).
