2025-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 and other models recall: Engine stall due to disabled rear fuel pump

2025–2026 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 and GMC Sierra 3500 vehicles with gasoline engines and dual fuel tanks (RPOs L8T and N2N) are affected. They were recalled because the rear fuel pump may not transfer adequate fuel to the front tank, which can cause an engine stall and increase the risk of a crash. GM will update the engine control module (ECM) free of charge by a dealer or via an over‑the‑air update; owner letters were mailed April 8, 2026, VINs became searchable on NHTSA.gov March 5, 2026, and owners can contact Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC at 1-800-462-8782 (GM recall N262544420).
