The hazard
Issue:
On certain aerial devices, the aerial platform access step(s) may not have been welded properly. As a result, the steps could detach and cause a person to fall.
Safety risk:
A step that detaches could create a risk of injury.
Corrective Actions:
To reduce the safety risk, Altec advises that you should check that the access step(s) are properly secured until the recall repairs have been completed. Altec will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact Altec Service to inspect and, if necessary, replace the access step(s).
