Ford SUV recall: powertrain (Transport Canada 2026509)

How to identify it

2026.0 | LINCOLN | NAUTILUS, 2027.0 | LINCOLN | CORSAIR, 2027.0 | LINCOLN | NAUTILUS

The hazard

On certain vehicles, a problem in the integrated parking module (IPM) could cause the transmission to shift into neutral (N) unexpectedly. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels.

Note: This problem would cause a wrench light and a "Service Vehicle Soon" or "Shifting System Error" message to be displayed in the instrument cluster display. This recall only affects hybrid electric vehicles.

A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.

What to do

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the integrated parking module.
