2026 BMW 2 Series vehicles are affected; owners may notice the taillamps, stop lamps and/or rear turn signals not working and a warning message displayed. The recall was issued because these lamp failures could make the vehicle less visible or prevent others from recognizing braking or turning, increasing the risk of a crash. BMW will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to replace the affected rear lamps.
How to identify it
2026 BMW 2 SERIES
The hazard
On a small number of vehicles, a problem with the rear lamps could cause the taillamps, stop lamps and/or rear turn signals not to work.
Note: This problem would cause a warning message to display.
Stop lamps, and/or turn signals that don't work could cause a person not to recognize that a vehicle ahead is braking or intends to turn or change lanes. Taillamps that don't work could make the vehicle less visible to others. These issues could increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the affected rear lamps.
