Certain BMW vehicles — 2023 i7, 2023–2025 X7, 2023 X1, 2024 X6, 2024 X5 and 2024 X2 — are affected. Repairs completed under Transport Canada recall number 2024-456 may not have been done correctly, and the integrated brake system could experience reduced power brake assist, reduced braking, and non-functioning ABS and DSC, increasing crash risk. The hazard

On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a BMW dealer during Transport Canada recall number 2024-456 may not have been done correctly. As a result, another repair is required.

On certain vehicles, a problem with the integrated brake system could cause reduced power brake assist. As a result, there may be reduced braking, and the antilock braking system (ABS) and dynamic stability control (DSC) may not work.

Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, antilock brakes and stability control systems that don't work could increase the risk of a crash.

What to do

The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the integrated brake system.
