CEMEN TECH C60 and C60E cement mixers (unit/serial numbers 4448 to 5701, model years 2020–2025) are affected; check the supports for the inner ring of the mixer swivel hopper. The swivel hopper supports may crack and fail, which could allow the mixer hopper assembly to separate from the vehicle and create a road hazard or risk of injury. Owners should regularly visually inspect the supports, take the unit out of service if cracks or separation are found, and await mail instructions from Cemen Tech or contact them to arrange recall repairs or a service technician.
How to identify it
2020–2025 Cemen Tech C60 CEMENT MIXER
2020–2025 Cemen Tech C60E CEMENT MIXER
The hazard
On certain cement mixers, the swivel hopper assembly may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the supports for the swivel hopper ring could crack and fail. If this happens, the mixer hopper assembly could separate from the vehicle.
Note: This recall only affects C60 and C60E mixers with the unit/serial numbers 4448 to 5701.
A mixer that separates can create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash or injury. Additionally, a mixer that separates on a parked vehicle can create a risk of injury to people near the rear of the vehicle.
What to do
To reduce the safety risk, Cemen Tech advises you to regularly perform a visual inspection of the supports for the inner ring of the mixer swivel hopper. If there are cracks or the mixer hopper ring has separated, the unit should be taken out of service until the recall repairs are completed. Cemen Tech will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to replace the mixer hopper assembly. Alternatively, you may contact Cemen Tech to arrange for a service technician to perform the recall repairs.
