Affected vehicles are certain 2019 Ford MUSTANG, MKX and NAVIGATOR models. A software problem, and in some vehicles incomplete repairs from recall 19C03, can cause the instrument panel cluster screen not to display at startup so gear selection, speedometer, warning lights and malfunction tell‑tales may not be visible, increasing the risk of a crash. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to update the instrument panel cluster software.

The hazard
On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 19C03 (Transport Canada recall no. 2019-064) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required.
On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the instrument panel cluster screen not to display when the vehicle is started. As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the gear selection, speedometer, warning lights and malfunction tell-tales.
Warnings, gauges, gear selection and tell-tales indicators that don't display could increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the instrument panel cluster software.
