2025 Ford TRANSIT recall: brakes

2025 Ford TRANSIT light trucks and vans (not Transit MPV) are affected; they can be identified as 2025 model year Ford TRANSIT vehicles. The cotter pin that secures the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal may not have been installed, allowing the pushrod to detach and potentially cause loss of brakes and a crash. Ford advises owners not to drive the vehicle until repairs are completed; Ford will notify owners by mail and dealers will inspect and repair the brake booster assembly as necessary.

How to identify it

2025 Ford TRANSIT

The hazard

On certain vehicles, the cotter pin that secures the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal may not have been installed. As a result, the pushrod could detach from the pedal and cause a loss of brakes.

Note: This recall doesn't affect the Transit MPV model.

A loss of brakes can create the risk of a crash.

What to do

To reduce the safety risk, Ford advises you not to drive your vehicle until the recall repairs are completed. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a dealer to arrange for an inspection. The dealer will repair the brake booster assembly, as necessary.
