2023–2026 Ford F-150 light trucks are affected; check your vehicle’s model year and F-150 designation. The recall was issued because the fuel tank straps may not have been secured properly, which could allow the tank to fall, cause a fuel leak, and lead to engine stalling, increasing the risk of a crash or fire. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the fuel tank straps.
How to identify it
2023–2026 Ford F-150
The hazard
On certain trucks, the fuel tank strap(s) may not have been secured properly. As a result, the tank could fall and fuel could leak. If this happens, the engine could stall suddenly.
A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Additionally, a fuel tank that separates from the truck could create a hazard for other road users and increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the fuel tank strap(s).
