2021–2023 Ford F-150 and 2023–2026 Ford F-250 SUPER DUTY light trucks in Canada equipped with an 8-inch display and 360-degree cameras are affected. A software problem could cause part of the rearview camera image to be blocked, reducing the driver’s ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up and increasing crash risk; Canadian rules require the full rearview image in reverse. Ford will notify owners by mail and will send a wireless over-the-air APIM software update, or owners may schedule the update at a Ford dealership.

The hazard
Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause part of the rearview camera image to be blocked. Canadian regulations require the full rearview image to display while the transmission is in reverse gear.
Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with an 8-inch display and 360-degree cameras.
A rearview camera image that is not fully displayed could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the APIM software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.
