2025 Ford BRONCO, EXPEDITION, RANGER and F‑150 vehicles are affected by a potentially defective electronic brake booster (EBB). The EBB may enter a failsafe mode causing a sudden increase in brake pedal force and may cause certain driver assistance systems to not work properly, increasing crash risk; Ford will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to replace the EBB.

The hazard
On certain vehicles, the electronic brake booster (EBB) may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the EBB could enter a failsafe mode and cause a sudden increase in brake pedal force. This could also cause certain advanced driver assistance systems not to work properly.
A sudden increase in brake pedal force can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, driver assistance systems that don't work properly could increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the EBB.
