Certain 2021 Ford E350 and E450 trucks are affected; they can be identified by model year and type (2021 E350 and 2021 E450) recalled in Canada. Ford says some recall repairs completed under recall 20S73 may not have been done correctly and the engine cover insulation may be mispositioned, which can cause interior surfaces to become hot and risk burn injury. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to update the powertrain software on vehicles equipped with stationary elevated idle control (SEIC) or battery charge protect (BCP).
How to identify it

The hazard
On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 20S73 (Transport Canada recall no. 2020-633) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required.
On certain vehicles, the insulation for the engine cover may not be positioned correctly. As a result, some surfaces inside the vehicle could get hot while the engine is running.
If a person touches a hot surface, there could be a risk of a burn injury.
What to do
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the powertrain software on vehicles equipped with stationary elevated idle control (SEIC) or battery charge protect (BCP).
