2020–2022 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 and F-600 Super Duty and Chassis Cab models equipped with the 6.7 L diesel engine are affected; check the model and year to recognise if yours is listed. Vehicles are recalled because the high‑pressure fuel pump could fail, causing rough running, illumination of the check engine light, or a sudden loss of engine power, which could increase crash risk. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to update the powertrain control module software.

The hazard
On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 24S78 (Transport Canada recall no. 2024-780) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required.
On certain vehicles, the high-pressure fuel pump could fail. If this happens, the engine may run rough and the check engine light may turn on. This could also cause a sudden loss of engine power while driving.
Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a 6.7 L diesel engine.
A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the powertrain control module software.
