Canada2025–2026 Glaval Bus models UNIVERSAL, VAN and SENATOR II built by Forest River/Glaval Bus/StarTrans Bus are affected; look for those model names and model years 2025–2026. They were recalled because some wheelchair tie-down retractors may not lock automatically, which could allow a wheelchair to move in a crash and increase the risk of injury. The hazard
On a small number of buses, the wheelchair tie-down retractors may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the retractor(s) may not lock automatically. If this happens, the wheelchair may not be secured correctly and could move in a crash.
A wheelchair that moves in a crash could increase the risk of injury.
What to do
None of the affected buses have been delivered to customers. The company will instruct dealers to inspect and, if necessary, replace the wheelchair retractor(s) before the buses are delivered.
