2023–2025 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles are affected; the issue involves the rearview camera which may allow moisture ingress. Moisture could cause the camera image to display incorrectly or not at all, reducing rear visibility and increasing crash risk. General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rearview camera.
How to identify it
2023–2025 Chevrolet MALIBU
The hazard
On certain vehicles, moisture could enter the rearview camera and could cause the rearview camera image not to display correctly or at all.
A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rearview camera.
