How to identify it

This recall involves the Green Scenic Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm. This smoke and carbon monoxide alarm has an LCD real-time display, a one touch test button and an LED flashing light. The recalled products were sold in a single pack, a three pack, and a five pack.

The hazard

The Residential Detectors Regulations require that smoke detectors, heat actuated fire detectors and smoke alarms in Canada meet the applicable Canadian standards. The product does not have a Canadian certification mark and it is unknown if the alarm operates in the presence of smoke, posing a potential fire hazard.

Health Canada reminds consumers that products that do not have a recognized Canadian certification mark may not meet Canadian performance standards and could fail or operate incorrectly. This could pose a risk to consumers who may not be alerted to a fire incident in their home. For more information on what to look for when purchasing a smoke alarm or detector, see Health Canada's Consumer Information -  When purchasing smoke or carbon monoxide alarms, look for a Canadian certification mark.

As of April 16, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents or injury in Canada.

What to do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Green Scenic for a refund. Consumers should replace the recalled product with one that bears a Canadian certification mark.
