Hyundai Car recall: suspension (Transport Canada 2026508)

How to identify it

2026.0 | HYUNDAI | ELANTRA

The hazard

On a small number of vehicles, the bolts that attach the front struts to the steering knuckles may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the bolts could loosen or separate and cause a change in vehicle stability and/or a loss of steering control.

A loss of steering could create the risk of a crash. A change in vehicle stability could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.

What to do

Hyundai will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, tighten or replace the bolts on the front strut assemblies. The dealer will also perform a wheel alignment, as necessary.
