Canada2019–2026 Lode King flat deck trailers and step deck trailers are affected; these are Lode King heavy trailers from model years 2019 through 2026. They were recalled because the rear impact guard may not have been welded properly to the frame and could fail in a crash, increasing the risk of underride and injury. The hazard
On certain trailers, the rear impact guard may not have been welded properly to the frame. As a result, the rear impact guard may not work properly in a crash.
A rear impact guard that doesn't work properly could cause a vehicle to underride the trailer and increase the risk of injuries.
What to do
Lode King will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect and, if necessary, weld the rear impact guard to the frame. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the inspection and repairs performed at a Lode King dealership.
