2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA CLASS vehicles are recalled; the front passenger seat belt buckle may become blocked after the automatic locking retractor (ALR) is used, which can prevent the front passenger from using the seat belt. Because this can increase the risk of injury in a crash, Mercedes‑Benz advises that, if the problem happens, you can move the front passenger seat to the rearmost position to unblock the buckle until recall repairs are completed. Mercedes‑Benz will notify owners by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership to replace the front passenger seat belt.

What to do
In the interim, if this problem happens, to reduce the safety risk, Mercedes-Benz advises that you can move the front passenger seat to the rearmost position to unblock the seat belt buckle until the recall repairs are completed.
