Nissan passenger car QASHQAI (type e9*2018/858*11042, barcode PG5CA, batch 08.07.2025–20.05.2026) produced in Spain is affected. It was recalled because incorrect software calibration of the lithium‑ion battery controller may not detect cell anomalies reliably and can cause the system to enter fail‑safe mode, limiting engine power, preventing charging and potentially causing loss of propulsion while driving, increasing the risk of an accident. Owners should follow the manufacturer’s recall instructions and return the vehicle as requested.
What's being recalled
Passenger car.
Country of origin: Spain.
How to identify it
Safety Gate alert SR/02289/26
Product name on the item: QASHQAI
Type or model: e9*2018/858*11042
Barcode: PG5CA
Batch: 08.07.2025 - 20.05.2026
The hazard
Due to incorrect software calibration, the lithium-ion battery controller may not reliably detect battery cell anomalies. It may incorrectly identify faults because of electrical interference or fluctuations in circuit resistance. As a result, the system may switch to fail-safe mode while the vehicle is being driven, limiting engine power and preventing charging. Under certain conditions, this could turn off the main relay and cause a loss of propulsion, meaning the vehicle may come to a stop while in motion, increasing the risk of an accident.
The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
What to do
Product recall from consumers (voluntary, manufacturer).
