This recall involves DR Power Equipment Branded walk-behind leaf vacuums, tow behind leaf vacuums, and leaf blowers. The products are orange and black in colour. The model number on the walk-behind leaf vacuum is located on the front right side of the unit behind the wheel. The model number on the tow-behind leaf vacuum is on the impeller housing beside the engine. The model number on the leaf blower is located on the top at the back of the blower housing.
Number sold: The company reported that 1026 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 61,300 were sold in the United States.
Time period sold: The affected products were sold from September 2014 to June 2025.
Place of origin: Manufactured in United States

The hazard
Components can come loose inside the unit and be ejected, posing a laceration hazard to users and bystanders.
As of December 16th, 2025, the company has received no reports of injuries or incidents in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 54 reports of incidents and no reports of injury.
What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact DR Power for a free repair kit, that includes a metal outer shield to be bolted onto the existing chute of the recalled leaf vacuums and installation instructions. Consumers who responded to the original recall should nevertheless contact DR Power for the new remedy.
