Sunshade and alternating blind products manufactured by Stores d’aujourd’hui Gatineau Inc. (141 units sold in Canada from March–December 2025) are affected; they are the sunshades and alternating blinds made by that company. They were recalled because they do not meet the Corded Window Coverings Regulations and pose a strangulation hazard (looped cords or entanglement) and can release small parts that present a choking hazard; as of February 9, 2026 the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada. How to identify it
This recall involves the sunshades and alternating blinds manufactured by Stores d’aujourd’hui Gatineau Inc.
The hazard
Health Canada has determined that the recalled blinds do not meet the Corded Window Coverings Regulations and pose a strangulation hazard. Young children may pull looped cords around their neck, or become entangled in the cords, causing a strangulation hazard and even death. In addition, the products can also release small parts that present a choking hazard to young children.

As of February 9, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact Stores d’aujourd’hui Gatineau Inc. for return instructions.
