The affected vehicles are 2025 Volkswagen Taos and 2025 Volkswagen Jetta in Canada, identified by model and year. They were recalled because a software problem can cause the instrument cluster not to display when the vehicle is started, preventing the speedometer, gear selection indicators, warning lights and malfunction tell‑tales from being seen and increasing crash risk. Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to update the software; the dealer will replace the instrument cluster if necessary.
How to identify it
2025 Volkswagen TAOS
2025 Volkswagen JETTA
The hazard
On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the instrument cluster not to display when the vehicle is started. As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the speedometer, gear selection indicators, warning lights and malfunction tell-tales.
Warnings, tell-tales and gauges that don't display could increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the vehicle software. The dealer will replace the instrument cluster, as necessary.
