2026 Volkswagen ATLAS CROSS SPORT SUV vehicles are affected. They were recalled because incorrect wheel bolts may have been installed, which can loosen and allow a wheel to detach, increasing the risk of a crash and creating a road hazard. Volkswagen advises you not to drive the vehicle until the recall repairs have been completed; none of the affected vehicles have been delivered to customers and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the incorrect wheel bolts before delivery.
How to identify it
2026 Volkswagen ATLAS CROSS SPORT
The hazard
On a small number of vehicles, the wrong wheel bolts may have been installed. As a result, the wheel bolt(s) can loosen and cause the wheel(s) to detach.
A wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a wheel that separates could create a road hazard for others.
What to do
To reduce the safety risk, Volkswagen advises you not to drive the vehicle until the recall repairs have been completed. None of the affected vehicles have been delivered to customers. Volkswagen will instruct dealers to inspect and, if necessary, replace the incorrect wheel bolt(s) before the vehicles are delivered.
