2025–2026 Volvo EX30 and EX30 Cross Country recall: seats and restraints

The 2025–2026 Volvo EX30 and 2026 EX30 Cross Country SUVs equipped with the Premium Sound option are affected. Electrical connections for the audio module could become damaged, which may prevent the driver’s seat belt reminder chime from sounding as required by Canadian regulations. Volvo will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to replace the damaged audio module terminals.

How to identify it

The hazard

On certain vehicles, electrical connections for the audio module could become damaged. As a result, the seat belt reminder chime may not work when your seat belt isn't buckled. Canadian regulations require a seat belt reminder sound when a driver isn't wearing their seat belt.

Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with the Premium Sound option.

A seat belt warning that doesn't work correctly may not remind you to buckle your seat belt. Not wearing your seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

What to do

Volvo will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the damaged audio module terminals.
