Certain 2026 Volvo medium and heavy‑duty trucks — models VN, VHD, VAH, VNE and VNL — are affected; they can be recognized by those model names and model year. Fasteners that secure the steering arms to the steering knuckles may not have been tightened properly, which could allow the steering arms to loosen and cause a loss of steering control and increased crash risk. Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise taking the truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, tighten the fasteners and replace any damaged components.

The hazard
On certain trucks, the fasteners that secure the steering arms to the steering knuckles may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the steering arms could loosen and cause a loss of steering control.
A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.
What to do
Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, tighten the fasteners for the steering arms. The dealer will also replace any damaged components, as necessary.
