2021–2022 Yamaha DRIVE2 (DR2E) recall: brakes

2021–2022 Yamaha DRIVE2 (DR2E) golf cars are affected; these are YAMAHA restricted‑use vehicles identified by the model and model years. The passenger‑side brake cable may not have been routed properly, which can cause the brake line to wear and fail and result in reduced braking. Yamaha will notify owners by mail and advise taking the golf car to a dealership for inspection and replacement of the passenger‑side brake cable if necessary.

How to identify it

The hazard

On certain golf cars, the passenger-side brake cable may not have been routed properly. As a result, the brake line could wear and fail. If this happens, there could be reduced braking.

Reduced braking can cause increased stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.

What to do

Yamaha will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your golf car to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the passenger-side brake cable.
