Table Planner

Lay out your tables, drag your guests into their chairs, and print the floor plan, the table lists and the place cards — all in the browser, nothing uploaded.

Plan your tables

Show

Getting around

  • Drag the floor to move around. Scroll or pinch to zoom.
  • Double-click the floor to see the whole room.
  • Shift + drag the floor to select several tables.

Seating

  • Drag a guest from the list onto a chair, or onto the floor to stand them there.
  • Drag someone off a chair and they stand where you let go. Drag them onto another chair to move or swap.
  • Drag anyone back to the list to take them off the plan.
  • Click a chair and type a name — it moves on to the next chair.
  • Click a group along the bottom, or a group heading in the list, to pick out just those people.

Keys

  • Ctrl Z undo — works for everything, even Seat everyone
  • ← → ↑ ↓ nudge · [ ] turn 15°
  • Ctrl D duplicate · Delete remove · Esc deselect

Paste your guest list

One guest per line. To say more, separate with commas: Name, Group, Meal, Note — a header row from a spreadsheet works too. Jane Smith +1 adds a partner in the same group.

Printing happens in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere to do it.

About

A seating planner for weddings, dinners and any event where somebody has to decide who sits next to whom. Draw the room, drop in round tables, long banquet tables, a head table and a dance floor, then fill the chairs.

Paste your guest list straight from a spreadsheet, group people into parties, and tell it who must sit together and who really must not. Seat everyone fills the room in one go, keeping families on the same table and honouring both rules; if you don’t like the result, one undo puts it back. When the plan is done, print the floor plan for whoever sets the room up, a list per table for the caterer, an A–Z for the welcome desk, meal counts, and fold-over place cards.

How it works

  • Tables come in the sizes you can actually hire. A 5′ round seats 8, a 6′ round seats 10, an 8′ banquet table seats 8 — plus ovals, squares, curved serpentine sections, a sweetheart table and a head table that only seats one side. Chairs are drawn 46cm wide at the spacing a real room needs, so if it fits on screen it fits on the night.
  • Everything snaps and lines up. Tables snap to a one-foot grid and to their neighbours’ centre lines, with a guide showing the alignment as you drag. Rotation goes in 15° steps unless you hold Shift.
  • Seating is drag and drop. Drag a guest from the list onto a chair, or drag them between chairs to swap two people over. Click a chair and start typing and it moves to the next chair on its own, so a table of ten takes about twenty seconds.
  • It checks the plan. Guests with no chair, parties split across tables, people who shouldn’t be sitting together, tables overlapping once the chairs are pulled out, furniture sitting on the dance floor — each one clicks through to the problem.
  • The printed plan is a drawing, not a screenshot. The floor plan prints as vector artwork from the same geometry the screen uses, so it stays sharp at any size and the names are real text.

Notes

Everything happens in your browser. Your guest list and your floor plan are saved on your own device as you work and are never uploaded, so the planner keeps working with the wifi off. Use Save to a file to keep a copy, move a plan to another computer, or send it to whoever is running the room.

A first visit opens an example wedding so there’s something to drag around. Start a new plan from the ⋯ menu when you’re ready.
