Certain 2021–2026 Freightliner trucks — including BUSINESS CLASS M2, 49X, 47X, 114SD, 122SD and 108SD — equipped with a TufTrac Gen 2 suspension are affected; these can be identified by the listed model names and model years. The axle clamp fasteners may not have been tightened properly, which can allow the clamps to loosen, let the axle move and cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash. Daimler Truck North America will notify owners by mail and advise taking the truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and tighten the axle clamp fasteners; axle clamp castings will be replaced as necessary.
